Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Act

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is established by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Act, Chapter 22:15 and exists as a body corporate capable of suing and being sued in its own name and, subject to that Act, of performing all acts that bodies corporate may by law perform.

The purpose of the Reserve Bank Act is to confer and impose functions on the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe; to provide for its management; to regulate the issue of banknotes and coins; to provide for matters connected with banking, currencies, and monetary policy; to provide for the supervision of banking institutions; to authorize the provision of information to foreign regulatory authorities; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to those provisions.
